The Trace Historical Society reading room will reopen Thursday, June 22, following replacement of damaged porch boards and improvements to the west entrance handrail.
Volunteer coordinator Marjorie Bell thanked Terrence Cobb, Lucinda Hale and members of Boy Scout Troop 44 for moving archive boxes away from the work area and repainting the benches. Donations from the Ruth Cole Family Fund covered the cost of lumber.
The reading room will return to its regular schedule of 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays. Appointments for map and photograph research may be requested in advance.
